Learning Outcome & Objectives

Learning Outcome:
By the end of the course, you will have an understanding of the threat posed by ground level ozone to tropical agriculture. Crucially, a knowledge of the tools to identify ozone injury, and different methods to tackle the threat from ozone pollution.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Knowledge of ground level ozone formation processes.
  2. Identification of when and where you will get high ozone conditions in your area
  3. Greater confidence in attributing injury symptoms to ozone or another source of damage to crop plants
  4. Ability to understand and describe plant physiological and metabolic consequences of ozone intake beyond visible injury
  5. Knowledge of how ozone injury affects crop value (economic and nutritional)
  6. Greater confidence in knowing how to manage the threat from ground level ozone pollution
  7. Greater awareness of resources available to you to help tackle ozone pollution
